Reviewing the best smartphones released in 2023 in the UK, including my top favourite budget phones, flagship Androids and mid-range mobiles. I’ve done unboxings and reviews of over 40 handsets so far this year and here’s my pick of the greatest across a range of price points, including the most lovable foldable smartphones.
The Pixel 7a starts our round-up, offering impressive value for money like no other. It’s practically Google’s flagship phone, but for a fraction of the price. You’ve got easily the best camera tech at this mid-range bracket, plus a slick 90Hz OLED screen and dependable performance.
Other favourites for a more budget price are the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite and Poco F5 – while the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and Samsung Galaxy A54 are strong rivals to the Pixel 7a.
For more cash, I’d recommend the Xiaomi 13 and OnePlus 11. Both are affordable flagship smartphones boasting strong specs, good camera tech, and excellent gaming chops.
Or if you want the best all-round phones of 2023, well, I really love Samsung’s Galaxy S23 and the Ultra model (if you’re proper loaded). Likewise, Sony’s new Xperia 1 V is a cracker for creators, media fans, gamers…pretty much everyone.
As for foldables, I’m hoping to review the Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra, a fresh bendy blower with a massive cover screen. But for now, my pick is the Oppo Find N2 Flip, which is a big improvement on the Samsung Z Flip.
